When I started running two years ago I couldn't do a single mile without stopping. My first 5K time was 34 minutes.
I'm a software developer. I sit at a desk all day. Nobody in my friend group runs. My dad has never exercised a day in his life. Running felt like something other people did.
I joined the Couch to Runner community here and something changed. I saw people with my exact same background hitting times I thought were impossible for people like us. Regular people. Desk workers. Late starters.
This morning at Parkrun I hit 19:47. I cried at the finish line. The volunteer timing me probably thought I was having a bad day. I was having the best day of my life.
