Breakthrough

5K done. Didn't stop once.

I started running because my doctor said I needed to do something about my blood pressure. I'm 37 and a mom of two under 5. Finding time to train was the hardest part. I ran at 5am before the kids woke up. Some mornings I only got 15 minutes. I was slow. So slow. Seeing Marcus's progress in the community kept me going. He started from nothing too. When he broke 25 minutes I thought, maybe I can at least finish one without walking. This Saturday I did it. 5K in 31:24. No stops. My husband watched the kids and stood at the finish line. My oldest made me a medal out of cardboard. 31:24 might not sound fast to anyone else. But for me it's everything.
